ARTIST PROFILING: Know More About Heavenly Dawap

Tongshwar Stephen Dawap baptized as Heavenly, Popularly known as Yaron Jtown is from the Mhiship Tribe from Chip in Pankshin LGA Plateau State. He grew up in T.Z Gindiri, Went to College Staff School Gindiri, graduated from Boys’ Secondary School Gindiri and Then Studied Theatre Arts from University of Abuja.

Music Career.
Heavenly Dawap said he started rapping before knowing what rap or Hip Hop is, so God thought him how to rap. He said he recall rapping a sentence over and over as a nursery child, as a kid he gets inspired by the situations around him especially when excited.

He came from a family of Music lovers, his Mum Mrs Dorothy Dawap is a creative music artist even though she never had the chance to record her songs because she came from a remote village with a very poor background. She is featured in his Mixtape Album “Carry Your Cross” on track 7.

He took music serious 2010 after he met DJ Wannie, they started making beats on the Church keyboard and when he hustle some money they go to Edgebag Music studios in pushit to work. From there they got in contact with Tehilah Media, a studio owned by Peace Dalis in Gindiri, there they developed their skills.

Heavenly Dawap Formerly known as T Dye put out a 8 tracks EP on December 29th 2016. He did a mini launch in Gindiri, selling less than 10 CD’s.
On his way back to School in Abuja middle of may 2017 he met his turning point, he decided to dump the rest of his EP CD’s to Carry His Cross and follow Christ.
2018 he had the chance to represent Nigeria in Gospel Music Africa Reality TV Show season 1, even though he did not win.

On April 5th 2021 he Launched and Dedicated his first gospel project with 24 tracks, a complete HipHop mixtape album titled “Carry Your Cross”. The Album is basically about his journey and the grace of God upon his life and humanity.
